Route Vecht (Utrechtpad) via Slot Zuylen

Beautiful walk from Fort aan de Klop via Slot Zuylen to Maarssen:

From the Fort de Klop junction - on the north side of Utrecht - it is possible to follow the Utrechtpad to NS station Maarssen. The Utrechtpad is a regional path that is marked yellow-red.

Via Slot Zuylen, definitely worth a visit, you walk along the river Vecht in the direction of Maarssen.
Slot Zuylen is one of the oldest castles on the Vecht, just outside the city of Utrecht. The Slot has a rich family history with (internationally) influential residents, in which strong women play a prominent role. Writer Belle van Zuylen is one of the most famous residents in the history of Slot Zuylen. The castle shows the residential culture of the Utrecht nobility from the 13th century, with art treasures such as paintings by Gerard van Honthorst, a room-filling tapestry, rare glassware and Chinese porcelain tableware. After 8 km you will reach Maarssen station, where you can travel back to Utrecht by train. The route can also be walked in the opposite direction.

Marking - Yellow/red of the Utrechtpad
Variant - Start the route at the Zandbrug in Utrecht and follow the Utrecht te Voet hiking line'Noorderpark-Rading\\\' to the Fort de Klop junction. Change here to the Utrechtpad to Maarssen (or walk the route in reverse). The route is then 12 km long.
