Five churches in Twente bear the name Plechelmus. The best-known and oldest church is the St. Plechelmus Basilica in Oldenzaal. The Roman Catholic churches in the surrounding villages of De Lutte, Rossum, Saasveld and Deurningen also bear the name Plechelmus. Why did the city and four villages choose the same church name?
