Bicycle route Braassemermeer and Langeraarse Plassen

This approximately 40 km long bike ride takes you through the polders north of Alphen aan den Rijn. Along the way you will cycle along the Braassemermeer and the Langeraarse Plassen.
The Braassemermeer, locally known as the Braassem, is a 425-hectare lake in the north of South Holland. The lake was created by peat excavation, mainly because peat was cut into the traditionally swampy environment.
Along the way you will also pass the Langeraarse Plassen, which consists of open water with depths of up to two metres. In addition to open water, swamp forests also occur in the Langeraarse lakes.
You take the ferry between nodes 33 and 32 and a little further on again at node 21.
