Tour of the heathland at De Eese Estate

Your route starts at Residence De Eese. From here you can take a nice walk across the De Eese Estate. The name of the estate was first mentioned in 1241. There is an old castle on the estate from 1619 (not open to the public). You will also find a country house and a large barn there. The natural plantation consists of forest and agricultural land, in the forest area there are a number of old burial mounds. You will also pass a piece of heathland. You will find a special variety of nature here, which is home to all kinds of animals. For example, badgers, deer, foxes, tree frogs, red kites, green woodpeckers and barn owls live there. Heather is especially important for reptiles such as the sand lizard, the viviparous lizard, the slow worm, the smooth snake, the grass snake and the viper.
