Tour of Bakelse Plas and Nederheide

Your route starts at Op d\\\'n Kreijtenberg Bed & Breakfast. First you walk along a large sand excavation that will eventually lead to a recreational lake, the Bakelse Plas. On the other side of the water you will discover the Nederheide, a forest area that connects to the Stippelberg estate in the north. The wild land was reclaimed at the beginning of the 20th century and planted with Scots pine, but it has always remained in the possession of the municipality - even now. You can now see a more natural forest management, with a few patches of heather. It is wonderfully quiet there. On the way back you will discover Natuurpoort Nederheide, with beautiful lawns at the edge of the water, a nice place to eat or drink something.
