Tour of Nijeholtpade, Tjongerdellen and Ketliker Skar

Your route starts at Parkhotel Tjaarda, where you first enjoy a cup of coffee at Grand Café 1834. In Nijeholtpade you pass Theetuin Nijeholtpade (Hoofdweg 255), nice to get off for a while. You also cycle along the Tjongerdellen, the original stream valley area of the Tjonger, a beautiful open landscape along the Tjonger Canal. Then you cycle between the Ketlikerheide and the noble forest of the Ketliker Skar. Fallow deer enjoy feasting on the grasses, herbs and young trees here. If you want to know more about nature, visit the unmanned information center It Beekpronkje, you will pass it (Schoterlandseweg 24A). Animal tracks lead you through and various viewing holes, drawers and sound buttons let you discover the badger, rudd, curlew, otter and kingfisher.
