Tour of Museum Belvedere and the lookout tower

Your route starts at Parkhotel Tjaarda, where you first enjoy a cup of coffee at Grand Café 1834. The name of the grand café is a reference to the year in which Tjaarda was founded as hotel Heidewoud, by innkeeper and gardener Johan Meijer . In 1877 the hotel was taken over by the Tjaarda family. Just before the end of the route you will pass Museum Belvédère, so you can take your time with your visit. The sleek, modern building was built across the water that was constructed as the Grand Canal in the eighteenth century. Further on, get off at the lookout tower for a panoramic view of the Oranjewoud Estate. This is the former country residence of the royal family of Orange-Nassau!
