Tour of the steam train and Loenense Waterfall

Your route starts at De Rimboe & de Woeste Hoogte Hoenderloo. Beekbergen still has a historic village image. On the Loenenseweg you will pass the Teixeira de Mattos Park, which was opened in 1912. You can recognize the Juliana tree from a striking ornamental fence, planted in 1937 in honor of the marriage of Juliana and Bernard. The station Beekbergen VSM (Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij) is located in the adjacent village of Lieren. Here you can take a trip with the tourist steam train that commutes between Apeldoorn and Dieren. In the woods above Loenen you drive along the Vrijenbergerspreng. Here you will find the Loenense waterfall: the highest waterfall in the Netherlands! It is intended to reduce the flow in the stream, which has a drop of about 15 meters over a length of 6.5 km.
