Ferry route'The 8 of Grou\\\'

This cycling route through the heart of Friesland is highly recommended for lovers of nature, culture and water sports. The route has the shape of the figure 8 and takes you past all kinds of picturesque places with a ferry!

You cycle through the vast peat swamp of De Alde Feanen National Park. The island of De Burd can only be reached by ferry. You might spot a white-tailed eagle or a group of deer here! Get off in Earnewâld to visit the National Park visitor center. The Skûtsje Museum and Eibertshiem stork station are also highly recommended.

Along the way in Grou, Nes and Oudega there are various rest points, picnic tables and terraces where you can relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful landscape. In short, this cycle route offers something for everyone and is suitable for young and old. So get on your bike and discover all the beauty that Friesland has to offer!
