Moerputten walking route

This walking route takes you through the Moerputten, a unique nature reserve on the edge of 's-Hertogenbosch. The Moerputten is one of the few remaining peat bogs below the major rivers. Here you see a mosaic of hay meadows, reed fields, swamp and open water. Special: part of the route you walk over a railway bridge that was put into use in 1890. The bridge was part of the Langstraat railway line that was constructed for the leather industry in this region. The bridge is now considered an industrial heritage, it is a special experience to walk over it. Further on you walk on a boardwalk through the swamp, after which you walk another loop through the Hundred Morgenpolder: a vast and bird-rich nature reserve. The route ends at Grandcafe & Boutique Hotel KASerne.
