Tour of Bathmen, Sion Abbey and Lettele

Your route starts at Restaurant BRAS-KOER. There are many small hamlets in the vicinity of Deventer, where the we-know-us feeling is great. One of those villages is Bathmen. With a cozy center and flanked by the Traasterbos, the Bathmen area is an interesting area to explore on your steel horse. In the Traasterbos, clear, wide paths offer views of picturesque open spaces between the trees. Although there is a lot of cycling and walking in the forest, peace and quiet predominates here. Sion Abbey is a Cistercian abbey of the Trappist order in Diepenveen. The monastery was founded in 1883 and it is the only Trappist monastery in the Netherlands located above the major rivers. In 1935 the monastery became an abbey, and monks still live there.
