Through the center and the greenery of Breda

Authentic Breda is waiting to be discovered. A pleasant center where you can enjoy shopping and a beautiful green environment make Breda very worthwhile. The beautiful Ulvenhoutse Bos, the oldest parts of which were laid out more than a thousand years ago, is known for the growth of a wealth of beautiful plants, such as the slender primrose, wood anemone, common berry, large beetle orchid, yellow nailwort and white rapunzel. The old, loamy moist sessile oak-beech forest of 112 hectares is designated as a Natura 2000 area and, like the Mastbos, was created for timber production and hunting. This forest is, as it were, a living museum piece. You can cycle to Brecht's House. This building in the center of Breda is located on the grounds of Breda Castle. It was built in the second half of the 14th century. The building has had various purposes: it was a forge, a military hospital and in 2015 the KMA housed a library in it. The War and Peace Museum shows with which objects people had to survive during the war. There are also newspapers and documents on display from 1933 onwards, but the museum also pays attention to the themes of 'war' and 'peace' in a broader sense of the word .
