This forest and heathland route across the Veluwe starts at Bakkerij Schreuder. Here you can buy artisanal bread and fresh delicacies: ideal for a nice picnic on the way! First you cycle through the Speulder- and Sprielderbos, one of the oldest and most beautiful forests in the Netherlands. Then you cycle for kilometers on cycle paths through the Leuvenumse Bos. Via the Elspeetse Heide you make a shortcut to Vierhouten. Just past junction 18 you pass Museum het Verscholen Dorp, after which you explore the Gortelse Heide. Many old farms have been preserved in Gortel, the town enjoys a protected village view. You cycle through the forests to Elspeet. Here you see some beautiful buildings, such as De Hoop, a corn mill from 1894. Along the edge of the Houtdorperveld you cycle back to Garderen.
