First you walk through the Wantij Park, which was constructed as a job creation project during the crisis in the 1930s. Further on you will pass Kyck over den Dyck, a flour mill from 1713. From the harbor quay you have a beautiful view of the rippling river water. You can also see the fifteenth-century Groothoofdspoort here. At the Nieuwe Haven you pass the Huis van Gijn museum, a little later you pass the Catrijnepoort from 1652 and the medieval Grote Kerk. On Beverwijcksplein you will see a nineteenth-century fountain, and a little later you will walk through Park Merwestein: a former estate that was opened to the public in 1885. The Water Tower on the Wantij is the second oldest in the Netherlands: it dates from 1882. The route ends with a delicious meal at Eetcafé het Puntje.
