Drought is becoming an increasing problem. This is also the case in the Ilperveld peat meadow area. Due to drought, the peat sinks here at least one centimeter per year. Can you imagine? Soil subsidence has major consequences, such as more CO2 emissions and damage to our infrastructure. Cycling through the landscape, this route tells you what it means to maintain an important peat meadow area, and the challenges involved.
