Walking through the Brabant silence

Just above Helvoirt you can take a walk through the Loonse & Drunense Duinen National Park. First you walk through the edge of the park, where you will find a mix of forest and flowery meadows. Further on you walk through the forests of the Guldenberg. This name refers to a sand hill that was located here in the former swamp area. The farmers had to pay a guilder to be allowed to cross this hill. Then you walk through the Pig Forest. This sub-area with its old oak trees is named after the wild boars that once hid here. You will find some living drifting sand areas here. It is a bit more challenging to walk, but you get a unique environment in return.
