Through the dunes: Noordwijk and Noordwijkerhout

This cycling route takes you from TopParken - Parc du Soleil through the dunes, the bulb fields and the beautiful center of Noordwijkerhout. In Noordwijkerhout you will pass the monumental Witte Kerkje from 1300. You will cycle along the Leidsevaart, a canal dug in 1657 for barges that sail between Leiden and Haarlem. You will see two historic mills here. On the other side of the water is the Lageveensemolen from 1890. The Hogeveensemolen was built in 1654. A little further on you pass Lake Como. At least, that is what the Oosterduinse Meer recreational area is called by the locals. In the forests of the Hollands Duin you suddenly notice the silence and shelter. The dunes not only block the sea, but also break the wind. A little later you pass the Atlantic Wall Museum Noordwijk.
