Experience the silence on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug

When you walk into the woods on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, it is as if you are entering another world. It is wonderfully quiet here, ideal for a relaxing day out. First you walk a bit through the Mollebos. Here you walk across a gently sloping landscape where deciduous and coniferous trees alternate. There is a good chance that you will hear a woodpecker drumming while walking. On the other side of the railway you walk across the Bornia Estate. The name is Old Frisian for border area. Originally, this area consisted of many sand drifts, which is reflected in the small height differences. In the middle of the estate you walk through an open area with heathland and drifting sand. You will also pass through Austerlitz for a short distance.
