Would you like to take a walk as an appetizer? Then take a walk in the countryside of Ede, the beautiful town on the edge of the Veluwe. This route takes you through the Edese Bos West.
Edese Bos
In the Edese Bos West you will find a beautiful mix of peace, space and remains of the old Kernhem Estate. The fact that this forest used to be part of this estate is reflected in the many beech avenues. It is wonderful to walk under the shady foliage of these stately trees. Thanks to the fertile soil, you can also see other deciduous species here, such as oaks.
Doesburger mill
The forests border the agricultural area around the town of Doesburgerbuurt. In addition to old farms, you can also see the Doesburger mill here. This flour mill from 1620 is one of the oldest existing windmills in the Netherlands. You will have plenty of time to take a good look at this beautiful historic building. And to photograph.
