Cycling route Kagerplassen

From Leimuiden you take a tour through the nature around the Kagerplassen. First you drive to Roelofarendsveen. From the quay you look out over the rippling water of the Braassemermeer. Then you cycle through the Dried Veender and Lijkerpolder. Here you can see the two beautiful Lijker mills that drained this area at the end of the eighteenth century. Via Rijpwetering – the village where Joop Zoetemelk grew up – you drive to the Boterhuispolder. From the dike you have a beautiful view over the Joppe, one of the waters that belong to the Kagerplassen. You pass the Boterhuismolen from 1744, further along is the Broekdijkmolen from 1832. The route takes you through Warmond and Sassenheim, after which you arrive at the Huigsloterdijk. You drive along the canal to Keijzer Party Center, Billiard Hall and Café.
