Explore two national parks around Wapse

Your route starts at Hotel Restaurant De Wapser Herberg. On the way to Diever you will see some beautiful thatched farms. At the Brink you can still experience the atmosphere of times gone by. Here you can see the Schultehuis dating from 1604. You will make a beautiful loop through the Drents-Friese Wold - a national park, just like the Dwingelderveld a little further on. Just past Benderse you can take a look at the authentic sheepfold that stands on the edge of the Dwingelderveld. To junction 56 the cycle path undulates and winds nicely between the trees, it is beautiful here! Above Havelte, take a break for the dolmens at the foot of the Havelterberg. The heath is grazed by a herd of Drentse Heideschapen, the oldest sheep breed in Western Europe.
