Cycling through the vast green plains around Valkenswaard

Just outside Valkenswaard there is a nature reserve full of beautiful heaths and fens. A wonderful environment to cycle through! Along the way you cycle past fens, which are very diverse in size. You will find varied flora and fauna around the fens. You will find round sundew, bell gentian, tormentil and devil's sewing thread. There are also many butterflies, dragonflies and occasionally you can see mammals such as rabbits and foxes running away. Towards the end you cycle past the St. Antonius Abt windmill. This mill was built in 1865.
