Cathedral of the Achterhoek
In the Achterhoek you drive through a beautiful scenic landscape of fields, winding streams, hedgerows and forests. You regularly see picturesque farms and monumental churches. The small chapels and crosses that dot the road here and there bear witness to Catholic history. After all, this area fell under the diocese of Münster for centuries. The characteristic Zieuwent is home to the St. Werenfridus Church from 1899, which is also called the cathedral of the Achterhoek.
