Tour Belmonte Estate and Renkums Beekdal

Your route starts at De Beekdalhoeve. After a cup of coffee you put on your hiking boots. You immediately walk through the Renkums Beekdal, an ecological connecting zone between Veluwe and Rhine. The stream valley has a valuable nature due to the wet hay meadows, sprinkling with clean spring water and a varied forest. The bowl shape originated in the penultimate ice age, when meltwater from land ice scoured the valley. Numerous streams traverse the area. You walk through the woods to Wageningen, a green student city with many tree gardens. Here you will discover the Belmonte estate, now the Belmonte Arboretum botanical garden. Thanks to its unique location on top of a moraine, you can enjoy surprising views of the Nederrijn and the characteristic landscape of the Betuwe. A wonderfully varied walk!
