Vechtdal walk Junner Koeland

This route takes you to the Vecht Valley east of Ommen. This beautiful river valley consists of various nature reserves through which the Vecht meanders. In the low polder, you will mainly see grasslands, while scattered fields can still be found on the arable land. Stop for a picnic at the enclosed meander of the Overijssel Vecht. This stream encloses the Junner Koeland like an elongated horseshoe, a vast area home to dozens of cows. Icelandic horses can also frequently be found here, assisting with grazing. On the way back, you will discover the forests east of your starting point. A wonderfully varied route!
