Description
This route combines the best of both worlds. You walk through a peaceful environment, so you can relax. In addition, this route contains a lot of history. You start this walk from Hotel Kontakt der Kontinenten. At the reception you can ask for the audio tour of this route. Thanks to the stories that you unlock with this, you will enjoy your walk even more. You walk through the leafy Banningstraat, where you will see some beautiful monumental buildings. At Kampweg 51 you pass the former Officers' Casino that was built in 1940 by order of the Luftwaffe. From 1953 until the closure of Soesterberg Airport in 2008, air force officers were based here. You walk back to the hotel through the former American district. Here you can enjoy a snack and a drink in the restaurant.
