Round Tubbergen and Almelo

Your route starts at Restaurant Vinck. Very special is De Eeshof Castle, which the cycling tour will take you past. The oldest part of the beautiful house in Tubbergen dates from the eighteenth century: above the door it says 1719. The wing was added in 1780 and 1786, as you can see from the stone weapons. The second floor was placed on it in the nineteenth century. The history of the city of Almelo begins with Huis Almelo, which is first mentioned in 1236. Take a look, you'll pass by! The weaving mills here boomed with the invention of the steam engine. Around 1900 there were many wealthy families in the region, who built beautiful houses and villas in classical styles: Art Nouveau, Expressionism and Neo-Renaissance.
