Tour of Oosterschelde, Burgh-Haamsteden and Renesse

The first kilometers you drive along the banks of National Park Oosterschelde. You have a beautiful view over the rippling water. From junction 90 you drive through the Prunjepolder, a wide and bird-rich nature reserve. Further on you will pass through the Schelphoek. This creek area was created from one of the largest dike breaches during the flood disaster in 1953. The Plompetoren is a former church tower from 1468. From the top you have a unique panorama. In Burgh-Haamstede you cycle along a partly reconstructed old ring wall. You drive through the Vroongronden nature reserve to Renesse. Get off for a pit stop at Het Wapen van Zeeland before driving through the dunes to Scharendijke. You cycle through the polders on quiet paths to Kerkwerve where the beautiful village church is located on the characteristic Ring.
