On this cycling route you can enjoy the best of both worlds: experience the tranquility by the sea on the edge of the Amsterdam Waterleidingduinen and then cycle into the pleasant seaside resort of Zandvoort and the bustling city of Haarlem. A bit of nature and a bit of culture, everything you could wish for.
From bulb fields to dunes
The starting point of this cycle route is on the edge of Heemstede. From here you set course for Noordwijkerhout, the so-called'Heart of the Bulb Region\\\'. In the spring you can enjoy the colorful bulb fields that are so typical of this region. Then you cycle into the dunes. Get a breath of fresh air along the coast and enjoy the salty sea air. It shouldn't be any problem here to completely relax. After cycling through the dunes you enter Zandvoort. This seaside resort is perfect for a short stopover for a drink on the pleasant beach.

This route takes you along the edge of the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes. This beautiful area is only accessible to hikers, so if you want to cross and explore the area, you will have to leave your bike behind for a while. The area is no less than 3,400 hectares, so there is certainly plenty to discover. Take it easy along the way and you have a chance of encountering a fallow deer.
