The polder landscape around Voorschoten

You cycle straight through the polder to the Nieuw Leven mill from 1815. This mill in Hazerswoude-Dorp was used for a long time to grind grain. You also cycle past the Zelden van Passe polder mill. This dates from 1642 and until 1952 this mill drained the Groote Westeindsche Polder. The mill is operated on a voluntary basis. Just before Voorschoten you cycle past the Vlietland recreation area. This area is 300 hectares and consists of a large pond, forests, creeks and parks. This area is especially popular among water sports enthusiasts, but you can also enjoy cycling and walking. The view over the water will never be boring!
