Walking around Wijlre

The South Limburg hilly landscape is known for rolling green meadows that are interspersed with colorful standard orchards and authentic towns and villages. On this route you walk through one typical Limburg town after another between the beautiful hills. The first part of the route runs along the edge of Wijlre. On the way you will pass the Molen van Otten. It is one of the few water mills in the Netherlands with a double water wheel and the mill dates from 1275. From here you walk successively through Stokhem, Schin op Geul and Etenaken. Between these towns are beautiful green areas where you can relax. Eventually you will return to Wijlre.
