Description

There is plenty of natural beauty between Oisterwijk and Oirschot. In short, an ideal region for a day of cycling. First you drive quite a bit through the Kampina. This nature reserve offers you plenty of silence, dense forests and panoramic views over the vast heathland. Around junction 9 you cycle through the Beerzedal with its unspoilt grasslands. Just past Spoordonk you pass the Chapel of the Sacred Oak in the middle of the forest. It is said that two shepherds found a statue of Mary here in De Beerze in 1406 and placed it in an oak tree. Further on you drive through the historic heart of Oirschot, after which you enjoy a break at Kasteel Bijsterveld - Brasserie Jacob V. Finally, you cycle through the Mortelen, a small-scale scenic landscape that still exudes the atmosphere of old Brabant.
