Forest and stream walk near Rijsbergen

From Alfons IJscreaties you can walk straight into the outskirts of Rijsbergen. Around node 91 you pass through the hamlet of Kruispad. Here you can see, among other things, a white Maria chapel that was consecrated in 1942 and was intended to protect the inhabitants against war violence. Then you walk a bit on the Oude Trambaan. Now it is a cycle path, the tram used to run here between Rijsbergen and Hoogstraten in Belgium. The route continues on a sandy path that leads you from junction 65 through part of Landgoed Krabbebossen. From junction 22 you walk on a grass path along the rippling waters of the Aa or Weerijs. How wonderfully quiet it is here! You cross the stream, after which you walk at your leisure to the starting point. Time for a terrace.
