Walking through the countryside of Rijsbergen

In the countryside of the village of Rijsbergen you can enjoy walking on paths and unpaved paths. First you walk along meadows and fields to the hamlet of Oekel, where you will see a wayside chapel, among other things. Further on you walk over Landgoed de Bigtelaar, a little later you cross the Aa or Weerijs twice. This stream originates in Belgium and joins the river Mark in Breda. Just past junction 95 you walk a short distance along the edge of the Oekelsbos. Then you come across the Aa or Weerijs again: this time you cross the stream with a pull ferry and walk a good distance along the rippling water. You can fully enjoy the silence here.
