Description
You will find De Beren Zoetermeer at the Zoetermeerse Plas, in the Noord Aa recreation area. This is the starting point of your cycling route. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy a snack and a drink on the south-facing terrace. Get on your bike and leave the busy city life for what it is and seek peace and quiet in the peat polders around Zoeterwoude. Until Voorschoten and Leiden you cycle through the peat polder landscape with lots of water, such as the Zoetermeerse Plas and the Vogelplas Starrevaart. It may not surprise you, but the Vogelplas is a true paradise for bird watchers. The second part of the route runs along the edge of Leiden and then you cycle through the peat polders back to Zoeterwoude. Look out over the water and enjoy!
