Cycling through the countryside of Enschede

This route takes you through the countryside between Enschede and Germany. This estate was founded in the nineteenth century by a textile manufacturer from Twente. You cycle through a typical Twente coulisse landscape of forest, high fields, hedgerows and streams. Just before junction 17 you cycle past a beautifully landscaped golf course, a little later you cycle a few kilometres through the adjacent deciduous forest. Strikingly enough, this nature reserve is called the Haagse Bos. The last part of the route takes you through Germany. Here too you will find a green landscape in which it is wonderfully quiet to cycle.
