Cycling route Enschede

With this route you will discover the charm of Enschede. First you drive to the Derkingsmaten, a small-scale nature reserve. Further on you cycle through the park forest of Hooge Boekel, an estate founded by a textile manufacturer. At junction 23 you drive through Zuidkamp. This former army base was constructed by the Luftwaffe and was intended to give the impression from the air that it was part of the Twente landscape. Some of the German buildings still stand. You then pass through the charming scenic landscape of the centuries-old Hof Espelo Estate. At junction 52 you pass through the Kristalbad, an ecological connection zone. The route takes you through the heart of Enschede, after which you drive into the countryside again. You pass Holterhof Campers, at Zuivelboerderij Holterhof you can visit the farm shop.
