Cycling through water and heath

During this cycling tour you will enjoy two exceptional cycling experiences in a tour through Central Limburg. From the campsite you cycle towards C-mine in Genk, after which you head towards Hoge Kempen National Park. We enter the park at the Kattevennen entrance gate. Shady forest paths lead you via Zutendaal to junction 550, the starting point for 'Cycling through the Heide' in the Hoge Kempen National Park, a 4 km long route across the Mechelse Heide. First you cycle through rugged forests, but then you see heathland, as far as you can see. And speaking of seeing from far away! Climb the lookout tower at Station As or the Bliksemstairs in Kattevennen for a beautiful panorama over the National Park and the Limburg mining region. You set course along the mine slag heaps of Waterschei, Zwartberg and Winterslag towards Bokrijk.
