Tour of Dinkelland, Springendal and Ootmarsum

From the Sisters of Denekamp Franciscushuis guesthouse you can take a cycling tour through the Twente scenic landscape. In this region near the border with Germany, cycling is wonderfully quiet, so you can enjoy nature to the fullest. You drive a bit along the Detour Canal, just past junction 5 this watercourse joins the river De Dinkel. A little later you cycle through the Springendal. A century ago, this former agricultural area was transformed into a lush nature reserve in the English landscape style on behalf of a local textile baron. At the Vasserbeek you pass the De Mast mill, then you drive through the Vasserheide. Ootmarsum is a real Twente gem. In the heart of this village you will find many old buildings. Step off for a moment to enjoy the historic atmosphere.
