Discover Leiden and the charm of the Green Heart

From the starting point you can drive straight into the Bentwoud, a young forest in which space has also been made for flowery grasslands and marsh. With over 800 hectares, this is the largest contiguous forest area in the Randstad. You then drive through the wide polder along the Oostvaart, where you pass the Blauwe Wip. You cycle through Koudekerk aan den Rijn, along the quay of the Oude Rijn you enter Leiden. In the city center you can enjoy the historic atmosphere thanks to the many beautiful old buildings. You pass, among other things, the Hooglandse Kerk. You will also pass the Hortus botanicus Leiden. On the south side of Leiden you drive through Polderpark Cronesteyn, the largest and most varied city park in Leiden. You drive back to Benthuizen via Westeinde and the Zoetermeerse Plas.
