Walking through the peat area near Kanis

This route takes you for a short walk through the Groene Hart. Around junction 54 you walk along the Oortjespad. This used to be a toll path, where the name refers to an old Dutch coin: an earpiece. Until the nineteenth century, this was also a church path that led to the Roman Catholic barn church in Teckop. Until junction 51 you walk along a waterway along which reeds and willows grow. Here you have a beautiful view over an old peat area with characteristic, elongated plots. These were created in the twelfth century by draining swamps. You pass a quail bridge and old farm, after which you walk on an unpaved path through the meadows. Finally, you walk past De Eend fishing lake. The route ends at Restaurant't Ryck/Buitenplaats Kameryck.
