Walking through the peat area near Kanis

This route takes you for a short walk through the Green Heart. Around node 54 you walk on the Oortjespad. This used to be a toll path, the name of which refers to an old Dutch currency: an ear. Until the nineteenth century, this was also a church path that led to the Roman Catholic barn church in Teckop. Until node 51 you walk along a wetering along which reeds and willows grow. You have a beautiful view of an old peat area with characteristic, elongated plots. These were created in the twelfth century by the draining of marshes. You pass a quack bridge and old farm, after which you walk on an unpaved path through the meadows. Finally, you walk past fishing lake De Eend. The route ends at Restaurant't Ryck/Buitenplaats Kameryck.
