In Schoonebeek you can visit De Zwaantje Hans-Stokman\\\'s Hof, a beautifully restored Saxon farmhouse. It is named after Zwaantje Hans, one of the last family members who lived here. He has turned the farm into a tourist attraction by'sanding\\\'. In many Drenthe farms there used to be a sand carpet, there was no floor covering yet. Once a week, the farmer's wife decorated the bare floors with fine sand: a sand carpet. You walk back via the seventeenth-century Schans de Katshaar.
