Tour of Gilze, Rijen and Tilburg

Between Breda and Tilburg you will take a bike ride through nature. First you will ride over the Bels Lijntje: the former railway line between Tilburg and Turnhout. At Riel you will go west. Via Gilze you will enter the Chaamse Bossen. This used to be a rough area with sand drifts and wet heathland, but between 1900 and 1935 the area was developed. Further on you will ride through two contiguous forests: the Prinsenbos and Sint-Annabos. It is wonderful to cycle here over stately avenues along old deciduous trees. You will ride a bit through the forests along Vliegveld Gilze-Rijen, where you will also pass through the village of Rijen. Finally you will cycle through the Reeshof and the Reeshofbos. The route ends on the cozy terrace of Uitspanning De Zeven Geitjes. Time for a bite to eat and a drink.
