Cycling through nature near Haaksbergen

East of Haaksbergen you can take a bike ride through beautiful nature. After you have loosened your legs, you enter the Buurserzand at junction 83. This nature reserve consists of a mix of forest, heathlands and old junipers. You can fully enjoy the natural beauty from the saddle. A little later you cycle through the next beautiful nature reserve: the Witte Veen. This was once a vast raised moor area, now you drive through forest and heathland. It is wonderfully quiet here. It will not surprise you that this area was once popular with smugglers who commuted between the Netherlands and Germany. Via Buurse you drive to the next natural gem: the Haaksbergerveen. Finally, you drive back via Landgoed Lankheet to the cozy terrace of Hotel and Restaurant De Watermölle.
