Walk on the Lankheet Estate

Lankheet is a centuries-old estate located just below Haaksbergen in Twente. Put on your sturdy shoes to explore this beautiful area. First you walk on an unpaved path along the Buurserbeek. This river originates in Germany and flows into the IJssel in Deventer. From the path you have a beautiful view over grasslands and the rippling water. You continue on car-free roads past meadows and some farms before arriving at Lankheet. Here you walk through a mosaic of forest, streams, heaths and fens. Further on you will pass the Step Stone Pond, a work of art that is intended as a place of reflection. You also pass several large areas with reeds that serve as water purification. The route ends with a terrace at Hotel and Restaurant De Watermölle.
