Walking through Maasland and nature

With this walk you will discover the charm of Maasland and the surrounding polders. First you walk along the Middelvliet. Here you have a beautiful view of rippling water, reed collars and vast grasslands where cows graze. In winter, the fields are temporarily populated by wintering geese. Further on you walk along the Foppenplas. This lake was created in 1989 because part of the Foppenpolder was flooded. While you walk along the water, you can get a breath of fresh air. You cross the lake with a foot ferry, after which you walk along the Noordvliet to the Maaslandse Bos. The last part of the route leads you through the protected villagescape of Maasland. Here you pass, among other things, the Oude Kerk. The route ends with a terrace at't Wapen van Maeslant.
