Tour of Korenburgerveen and Groenlo

This route takes you through the lovely Achterhoek scenic landscape. You cycle on car-free roads past grasslands, fields and old farms. Just before junction 54 you pass through De Leemputten. This natural park was created at the end of the nineteenth century. Then loam was excavated here for the brick factory in Groenlo. Until 1931 this was done with a shovel. Further on you drive past the Korenburgerveen. This nature reserve consists of raised bogs, heathland, pristine grasslands and swamp forest. You can't go through it by bike, but from the saddle you have a beautiful view of the natural beauty. Groenlo is a picturesque town where you will pass the late medieval Old Calixtus Church. You cycle a bit along the Slinge, after which you drive back to the Hof van Eckberge.
