Tour of Sallandse Heuvelrug and Nijverdal

With this route you will discover the charm of Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park. The vast majority of this tour runs through nature. You drive through extensive forests where you see fragrant Scots pines and stately beech and oak trees. You also cross the large heathland that lies in the middle of the national park. Dismount for a moment to enjoy the beautiful views. The rolling landscape here is formed by sliding ice and shifting sand. However, according to legend, the Salland hills were created by a giant who carried a bag of sand with him. There may have been a hole in the bag through which the sand leaked out.
