City walk Deventer

With this route you will discover the charm of Deventer, one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands. Immediately from the departure you look out on the Lebuïnus Church from 1525. Further on you pass the Broederenkerk, which originally dates from 1338. You walk a bit through the Rijsterborgher Park, which was designed by Leonard Springer at the end of the nineteenth century. A little later you walk through the Douwelerkolk, a nature reserve where you walk along fields and through bushes. The route also takes you through the Venenpark, after which you walk through the Bergkwartier. This beautiful neighborhood is located on an old river dune at the former mouth of the Schipbeek in the IJssel. Here you will see the medieval St. Nicholas Church. Via the Brink, the oldest part of Deventer, you walk to Hotel Restaurant Huis Vermeer.
