Description

From Deventer you cross the IJssel with a ferry to the Worpplantsoen. The origins of this park date back to 1699, it is one of the oldest city walking parks in the Netherlands. You then walk on an unpaved path past meadows and fields. Further on you walk across a few islands that are part of the Ossenwaard nature reserve. From the railway bridge you have a beautiful view over the IJssel and Deventer. In the city itself you walk through the Rijsterborgher Park, which was designed by Leonard Springer at the end of the nineteenth century. De Brink is the oldest part of Deventer. You seem to take a leap back in time here, so many old buildings are still here. For example, you will see the Waag from 1528. The route ends at Hotel Restaurant Huis Vermeer.
